"The world of work is changing rapidly, and Goodwill is committed to making sure the people we serve are prepared for what's next," said Colleen Morrone, President & CEO of Goodwill of Delaware & Delaware County. "The Week of Opportunity reflects the many ways we help people move forward, whether they're preparing for a job interview, learning new technology, connecting with employers, or supporting our mission through a donation. At Goodwill, we believe opportunity remains fundamentally human, and we're committed to helping people build the knowledge, confidence, and relationships they need to thrive in the jobs of today and tomorrow."

National Upcycling Day Electronics Donation Drive

National Upcycling Day celebrates creative reuse, finding new ways to extend the life of items instead of sending them to the landfill. In recognition of the day, Goodwill is encouraging community members throughout Delaware and Delaware County to donate unwanted computers, printers, monitors, and other electronics through Dell Reconnect, helping ensure technology can be reused or responsibly recycled.

Dell Reconnect is a free partnership between Dell Technologies and Goodwill that gives electronics a second life through secure, responsible reuse and recycling, making it a natural fit for a day focused on reducing waste and getting more value from the things we already have.

Electronics may be donated at any Goodwill donation center throughout Delaware and Delaware County. For locations and hours, visit GoodwillDE.org/Donate.

National Upcycling Day will also spotlight Goodwill's upcoming ReThink Fashion Show – the ECO Edit, which celebrates creativity, reuse, and sustainable fashion through one-of-a-kind runway designs created from donated goods. Learn more at GoodwillDE.org/EcoEdit.

Preparing for the Jobs of Today and Tomorrow

The Week of Opportunity will continue on June 25 and 26 with digital storytelling and educational content highlighting Goodwill's workforce development programs, employment opportunities, mission impact, and future-ready training resources available through the Opportunity Hub.

At Goodwill, we believe people—not technology—are at the center of opportunity. Through the Opportunity Hub and Opportunity Accelerator®, Goodwill helps individuals build the human, digital, and technical skills needed to thrive in the jobs of today and tomorrow.
